The Rotorua District Council contacted one of their local Electrical Consultant companies to suggest a reliable energy efficient lighting solution to provide uniform and controllable lighting in their Tourist Information Centre (the i-site).

Having researched the LED lighting options currently available and seen the results of the Aqualuma LED upgrade in the local "PnS" store, the consultant company suggested the same Aqualuma Lightsource-R Hi Bay as a possible option for the i-site. NZ Lighting Wholesale provided four 185 watt bracket mount Lightsource-R hi bays with diffuse acrylic lenses and dimming control. These were supplied on a sale or return basis.

The result is the i-site has ample uniform light throughout the facility with the maximum required light level being achieved at 60% of the available power consumption.

After researching all the LED Lighting solutions on offer to replace the existing, extremely high maintenance and expensive to run Metal Halide Hi Bays, the owner/operator of Rotorua Pak ‘n Save chose an Aqualuma LED Lighting solution from NZ Lighting Wholesale.

The existing 440 Watt Metal Halide fittings were replaced one for one by Aqualuma Lightsource-R LED Hi Bays consuming an average of 155 Watts per fitting, giving an energy saving of 65%. The light levels throughout the store averaged 900 Lux, higher than any competitive LED solution. This was achieved with a colour temperature of 4000K and 85 CRI. The store and the produce on offer have never looked so good.

So robust in the Aqualuma Lightsource-R fitting it was also chosen to illuminate the exterior signage on the building. No other LED Hi Bay can offer the durability provided by the Aqualuma fitting.
