Good Design Award 2016

The most recent edition to the Aqualuma LED Lighting family, the High Bay with Uplight has recently won this prestigious award in the category "Product Design: Industrial & Commercial".

It has been designed specifically for "Big-box" retail environments where studies have shown a negative correlation between un-lit ceilings and shopper comfort, and therefore time spent in the store.

The Uplight merges seamlessly with all versions of their existing Aqualuma High Bay. It has an integrated design which retains all componentry internally, making the housing dust, corrosion and splash proof, which lowers maintenance and cleaning costs.

The luminaire has instant on/off. It can be optioned with sensors to detect and respond to motion and daylight. Through programing, the luminaire will dim to a pre-set %, or off, then resume on renewed detection of movement or failing natural light. It creates strong visual presence with its balanced symmetry and robust styling.

The Aqualuma High Bay with Uplight creates a more positive experience and extends the time a shopper will remain in the store.

CHILLIWACK PROSPERA CENTRE IS IN CONTROL

Chilliwack Prospera Centre located in Chilliwack British Columbia completed the change over from Metal Halide lighting to Aqualuma’s LED High Bay solution. This gave them approximately a 65% savings in power consumption while increasing their light levels by double. In addition to this, they have not had to use their air conditioning because of the huge reduction in heat generation. They also discovered that because of the heat reduction, they are using only two of the three ice plants electric compressors. They will now see reductions in energy costs for lighting, air conditioning and ice plant generation.

Further to this, we increased the light levels in the larger arena from approximately 700 lux to between 1480 and 1700 lux which are Olympic standard lighting levels. The Aqualuma LED High Bay’s were also installed with a full DMX Wireless Lighting Control system. This allows the operators to take full control of their lighting and create lighting themes such as strobing, chasing or any combination of on/off, dimming or theatrical type programs. This is an important value add to their lighting and gives them the opportunity to bring in other revenue producing events other than hockey.

Both the City of Chilliwack staff and the Junior Hockey Club players and management are extremely satisfied with the lighting change over and are excited to start their new hockey season and showcase their building.

PROTECTING YOUR MARINE ASSET, ULTRASONIC ANTIFOULING

Ultrasonic Antifouling has been used in industry for many years and only recently through Aqualuma's development been adapted for use on marine vessels.
This revolutionary device outputs ultrasonic signals through Transducers, which are mounted inside your hull. The ultrasonic waves generate a barrier over the submerged hull area destroying the food source, thus preventing unwanted growth.
